As a teen in the ’80s, I was obsessed with metal, punk, and post-punk goth music. Heavy and dark has always been my thing, At 17, that obsession turned into a passion for drums and a drive to become the best drummer I could be. I bought my first vintage Ludwig kit for $300 with money from my fast-food job and got to work learning to play. This passion took me to Musician's Institute in Hollywood where I really honed in on my skills.

Through the ’90s and early 2000s, I played in multiple bands, including an all-girl thrash metal trio named Hell Hath No Fury, several punk bands, and a post-punk goth band called Veer Chasm (both can still be heard on YT). Music, chaos, and rebellion have been in my blood from the beginning. I've lived and dressed as a rebel long before social media existed.

In the early 2000s, I began selling thrifted and handmade alternative fashion on eBay, and as a seamstress I repurposed band tees into more feminine and sexy gothic and punk designs under the name Stigmata Couture. DIY and artistic creativity have always coursed through my blood.

In 2008, I opened Black Orchid Couture, an alternative brick-and-mortar boutique in Albuquerque, yes, THAT Albuquerque, and it quickly became a local favorite. When the 2009 financial crash forced the shop to close, I had to get creative to continue it. I went back to school for web and graphic design and rebuilt online, and over the years Black Orchid Couture grew into a thriving e-store carrying respected independent brands like Alchemy Gothic, Black Market Art, Kreepsville 666, Femme Metale, and Hades Footwear. The shop still operates today across online platforms.

Through it all, one rule has guided everything I do: support real independent brands. No knockoffs, no cheap replicas, just originality, quality, and integrity.

Midnight Rebellion was born from that same mindset. While Black Orchid Couture leans more feminine, Midnight Rebellion is for all genders and every shade of subculture style. Midnight Rebellion is built on decades of lived experience, deep-rooted values, and long-standing relationships with carefully curated brands, both old favorites and new obsessions.
